La Distillerie Béninoise has partnered with AgroSfer to research more sustainable palm wine extraction methods. Experiments started being carried out in the Lokossa region in May 2021. Plans call for all findings to be open-source, with trainings for Palm Farmers at no charge. In doing so, both organizations hope to improve sustainable farming methods, increase the earned income of Palm Farmers, and formalizing the regional palm industry.
